Brussels, 19 March 2018 – It is vital that the EU’s openness to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) remains high – EU industry relies on straightforward access to capital in order to innovate and grow. However, there is lack of transparency as regards inward FDI into EU. In order to remedy this situation, the European Commission has proposed an FDI screening mechanism, which AEGIS Europe supports.

Ahead of this engagement, AEGIS Europe has applauded the stance taken by the Parliament on ensuring that Europe has sufficiently strong, and legally robust, trade defences in place to counter dumping into the EU.
Brussels, 4 July 2017 – AEGIS Europe has expressed major concerns regarding the approach being taken by DG Trade in the first expiry review of anti-dumping measures on imports of open mesh fabrics of glass fibres originating from China. This case comes at a crucial moment, one week before the start of the Trilogue on a new EU Anti-Dumping methodology, currently scheduled for 12 July.
Brussels, 20 June 2017 – MEPs in the European Parliament will today vote on a committee report regarding the Commission's proposal for a new ‘non-standard’ methodology to be used in anti-dumping proceedings against non-market economies. AEGIS Europe urges MEPs to recognise the need for clear definitions, formalised due process, and an unambiguously effective non-standard anti-dumping methodology.
